10. Baga Beach: The Most Famous Beach of Goa

This Beach is the most famous and definitely the most crowded in North Goa. Baga Beach is where most of the action happens. It’s packed with shacks, water sports, and tons of energy all the time. Here in Tito’s Lane most of the Goa’s clubs are located.

If you’re into water sports this is the place where most of them are available, though there might be a little waiting time. Jet skiing, banana boat rides, parasailing, and bumper rides. Prices keep changing depending on the season, but if you’re visiting during the off-season, you can bargain at the spot to get a good combo offer for yourself.

If you want to know about the Clubs of North Goa, I have written a separate blog for it Click here to check it out. It’s the ultimate guide to all the best clubs of North Goa

9. Calangute Beach: Family Friendly Beach of Goa

Calangute Beach is right next to Baga and is one of the biggest beaches in North Goa. It’s always got a crowd but feels more relaxed compared to Baga. At Baga Beach, there are all partygoers Calangute is more family-friendly.

The parking area is huge, there are a lot of shopping stalls right near the entrance, and the beach shacks here are more chill. Most of them even have live music in the evenings.

If shopping is on your mind, the stalls near Calangute sell everything from beachwear and souvenirs to Tibetan jewellery and handicrafts. Bargaining works, so try it. most of the items here are sold to tourists so the prices might seem higher don’t worry keep reading there are much better options coming.

8. Candolim Beach: Best Beach to Chill

If you want to escape the crowds of Baga and Calangute but still stay in the same area, Candolim is the beach to go to. It’s quieter, and more relaxed, and the whole vibe here is more peaceful.

You can take a short walk to Sinquerim Fort, which is a small fort with a great sunset view. The walk here from Candolim beach is short and you can find many shacks here which have a kind of lazy vibe. You can do water sports here without the crowds and waiting time of Baga beach. 7. Anjuna Beach: The Trance Party Hub of North Goa

Anjuna Beach is just north of Baga and has a completely different vibe. What you watch in movies that Goa is here. While Baga is all about loud crowds, Anjuna is more about laid-back travellers, trance music. A lot of foreigners who stay here for weeks sometimes months, they become more local than you. It’s fun hanging out with avid travellers and sharing experiences. There are some really good hostels in here if you are travelling solo this is the place to be.

Another one of the best things about Anjuna is the Wednesday Flea Market. You’ll find all sorts of stuff here: handmade jewellery, dreamcatchers, leather goods, spices, and some really cool bohemian clothing. The prices are comparatively less than that of Calangute beach and you can bargain more.

If you’re here for sunset, the rocky shoreline makes it one of the best spots to watch the sky change colours. I just love sitting at a shack here and enjoy the beautiful sunset, the vibe at this beach makes it somehow more beautiful.

6. Vagator Beach: Chapora Fort & Hidden Spots

Vagator Beach is located right beside Chapora Fort, which became famous decades ago because of that “Dil Chahta Hai” movie scene. A lot of people come here just for that. But the best part about Vagator is its cliffside viewpoint, where you get a really nice view of the whole beach. Well, this is what you must have heard right?? Honestly ,there are too many people at a very small point in the evening and the experience is not what it was a few years ago.

Instead of staying at the main Vagator Beach walk a little and you’ll find a couple of quieter spots. The first one is Ozran Beach also known as Little Vagator it’s a small beach with a rocky beach view and relaxing shacks. Don’t go swimming here as it has sharp coral on the rocks underwater. But the shacks here are really nice. Even the shacks here are mostly under shade even in the afternoon as the hill towers over them so on a hot day this is the best place to relax and cool down on the beach. The second spot is the Dream Beach, A tiny, almost hidden beach north of Vagator. Feels like a private spot. There are just 2 shacks here as more can’t fit in it’s a bit of a private beach vibe here as many people don’t know about this place.

5. Arambol Beach: The Hippie Paradise of North Goa

Arambol Beach is way up north and has a very different crowd. This is the land of the hippies; you will find the service here very relaxed the people here are not in a hurry to do anything and even you will slow down here.

This is one of my favourite beaches in North Goa. I came here to spend an entire day at the beach there are many shacks, and inside spots near the beach where secret Russian parties take place. There used to be Drum circles and live music at sunset but since the Lockdown the people have not returned and this has stopped altogether. This place is filled with Yoga centres and Massage places so if you want to try that this is the place. There are many hidden trance parties where you can just grove to the music and get lost in the here and now. This beach is for those who want to heal their soul, slow down from the rush and just exist.

There’s also a hidden Sweet Water Lake near the beach. It’s a short 20-minute walk from the northern end of Arambol and feels like a secret little spot. The best part? You can do paragliding from the cliff above it.

4. Ashwem Beach: The Luxury Beach

Ashwem Beach is one of the cleanest beaches in North Goa. maybe because it’s not much frequented by Indian tourists. It has a relaxed, slightly upscale vibe, and you’ll see a lot of European travellers here. The cafes and restaurants here have a different, it feels less touristy and more stylish.

If you follow the Google map’s location it takes you to a parking spot and you feel like you are at some random beach anywhere in India. That is because there are very few shacks at this beach and it gives a rather empty beach vibe, the Europeans love this beach and you will too if you want a little South Goa vibe in the North.

3. Morjim Beach: The Turtle Beach

Morjim Beach is known for being one of the quieter beaches in North Goa. The vibe here is very calm and serene. The crowd here is mostly just for chilling and eating delicious food. There is also an Olive Ridley turtle nesting site. If you’re visiting between November and April, you might see some turtles. Check the timing at the shacks nearby if you wish to visit mostly it’s early in the morning.

This area is sometimes called “Little Russia” because a lot of Russian tourists stay here for long periods. Even the shacks have menus written in Russian, don’t worry you will get it in English as well. Sometimes there is also an auction for fish here if you are interested you can visit this place to have a unique experience. Don’t worry the smell won’t bother you as the shacks are away from where the auction happens. This beach is for those who want to laze around in a shack beer in hand and a good conversation going. Some of the shacks here are really good though beware the rates here in shacks are a little higher than most as they cater mostly to the Russians.

2. Querim Beach: Paragliding & Hidden Caves

Querim Beach is one of the most offbeat and secluded beaches in Goa. If you just want peace and quiet, this is where you should go. The shacks here are bare minimum and you will hardly find anyone at this beach other than come sunset time. Still, this is one of my favourite beaches. Rather than in the beach shacks or on the sun bed with an umbrella here you sit in the shade of the coconut trees outside the shacks.

The food prep here is local homemade style everywhere on the beach. But the best part is that there is a hidden cave with a beautiful sunset view from it on this beach just 300 meters away from the beach entry. You can try Paragliding or Paramotoring over the beach from here. you just have to go up the hill in your vehicle to do so. If you want to know more about such water sports and adventure activities then Click here to know more. There is an old temple here right on the beach that you can visit as well.

I am sure you don’t know about the next one.

1. Sandia Beach: The True Hidden Gem

If you want to visit a beach that almost no one knows about, Sandia Beach is the place. Even on weekends, there’s barely anyone here. As this is not a beach many people know about. Though on the mainland in Maharashtra this beach is the Northern most beach of north Goa.

To get to this beach you need to park your vehicle near Tiracol Fort. To get here, you have to walk down a cliff for about 10 minutes, but once you reach, it’s one of the most peaceful and untouched beaches in Goa. once you get on this beach rather than feeling like you are on a beach you feel like you are in a gigantic cave as the cliff towers over the entire beach. Speaking of caves just 5 minutes’ walk ahead there is a hidden sea cave that you can visit. This is truly one of the hidden gems of North Goa. sometimes at evening there are some secret Russian parties here at the beach. There are no shacks here so you will need to get your own supplies like food and water
